Zizza Insurance Agency is the oldest, family run insurance agency in Stoneham. It was founded in 1982 by Rocco L. Zizza and has continued to expand and thrive to this day.

Michael Zizza, CPCU, AAI

Michael Zizza entered insurance business in 1983 upon  graduating cum laude from UMASS/Amherst with a degree in Economics.

Currently he is the president of Zizza Insurance Agency, Inc., which specializes in automobile insurance, homeowner insurance, and insurance for small businesses.

Mr. Zizza attained the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation (CPCU) in 1995.  CPCUs are insurance professionals that span the country as well as the industry, from independent agents and brokers to CEOs of major insurance companies, to actuaries, accountants, small business owners, underwriters, claims adjusters, lawyers, and others. To earn the designation, CPCUs must pass nine rigorous national exams administered by the AICPCU (American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters), the organization that confers the designation, and meet a related studies requirement. In addition, CPCUs must fulfill significant experience requirements, demonstrate ethical behavior, and make a Commitment to Professional Conduct.

Mr. Zizza has also attained the Accredited Adviser in Insurance designation (AAI) in 1997from the Insurance Institute of America.  The AAI provides insurance agents with skills that improve productivity and overall professionalism.

Rocco L. Zizza

Rocco was born in the province of Foggia  in Italy. At age 12, he moved to the United States. He was raised in the famed North End of Boston, Massachusetts, otherwise known as “Little Italy”.

Rocco started with The Prudential in the Boston Agency in 1958 immediately following his graduation from Boston University. He was drafted into the Army in 1958 and spent 5 years in the Army Reserves in the Judge Advocate General branch. He then returned to the Boston Agency in 1960. He is still to this day associated with the same agency.

The following is just a small part of the list of his accomplishments:

• Thirty Year qualification for the Academy of Honor
• Twenty Five years – Presidents’ Club Conference
• Life and Qualification Member of the Million Dollar Round Table (23 consecutive years)
• Current President of the Million Dollar Round Table
• Numerous speaking engagements within the Insurance Industry

Rocco started Zizza Insurance Agency, which is presently owned and operated by son Michael, in 1982. Since then, he built it into a mult-million dollar premium business. Rocco also started a successful travel agency business in 1986 (which was sold in 1990).

He also founded the Appian Club, a family-oriented organization largely made up of Italian-American professional and business people dedicated primarily to charitable activities.

Rocco still lives in Stoneham, Massachusetts with his lovely wife. He has seven children (all college graduates and two are in the insurance business) and has 9 grandchildren.

Maria Auciello

Maria was born in Italy came to the United States at a young age. She was educated abroad and in Boston.  Maria speaks and reads fluent Italian.

She graduated from Fitton Central School, and worked in Boston for a law firm. She went on to work for the Archdiocese Of Boston  for twelve years as a sales counselor and has been on staff at Zizza Insurance Agency  since 1994.

Maria is the mother of three sons and has six grandchildren

Fran Newton

Frances Newton (Fran) came to Zizza Insurance in January of 2007 with more than 40 years of insurance knowledge and experience, having worked in a large insurance agency in Boston and also in small local agencies as well.  She was educated in Woburn, Massachusetts and attended Newman Prep in Boston. She graduated from Suffolk University in Boston with a major in liberal arts and Northeastern University for insurance related courses.  Fran is the mother of two sons and has 5 grandchildren.
